Animals
The forest at Flor de Pochote is inhabited by a wide range of native
birds, insects, reptiles, and some mammals. However the first animals to
meet you are our domestic animals, especially our very little freindly
geese, who hardly oppose any entrance to the restaurant area.
In this section we present first the domestic animals and later we tell
about what else you may find on the farm, except birds, as these have
their own page.

| Linda -
our first cow |
Gives
8-12 liters of milk a day |
So there
is enough to everybody |
 |

 |
| A jailed boa. We do not raise
snakes. But farmes donīt like them in the fields, and bring them
to us. |
A single pik is working hard
to overcome all the kitchen garbage. |
Sheeps of the tropicized "Pelibuey" race
are normally grassing freely on the farm |

 |
| Geese like clean water, but
they are the first to mess it, so they may only have a little
pond. |
A duck with eggs. But we have
no ducklings. Wild birds are over them. |
But we have hens and chicken everywhere -
to comply the demand of the "indian hen soup". |
Hiking around the
area you are likely to observe a lot of life, most small animals singing
and croaking, what each of them consider romantic tunes. The photos below are a small
selection of animals seen at Flor de Pochote when we happened to have a
camera at hand.
