Getting to Flor de Pochote from abroad
By airplane
The only International Airport with frequent flights is the Managua
International Airport with the name Agusto Cesar Sandino (a liberty hero
who fought the US-marines,
read more about Sandino here).
Managua has daily connections to Miami, Houston and all Central
American capitals, as well as domestic flights to the Caribbean cost of Nicaragua.
The distance from the airport to Flor de Pochote is about 50 km.
If you hire a taxi, or rent a car, do not waste your time passing
Managua. Take the highway East to Tipitapa, and turn south towards Masaya.

If you go by bus, you have to find the 'Roberto Huembes' market in Managua, and to get there you need a taxi. Airport taxis cost
10-15 dollars, normal taxis hired on the highway just outside the airport cost
4-8 dollars, depending on of the number of passengers.
By bus from Costa Rica
Several bus companies travels from the Costa Rican capital San
José to Managua, but most of them will only stop in main towns en route, such as
Masaya and Jinotepe, or they might go non stop to Managua. The Tica
Bus has one daily trip, that passes through Masatepe. It leaves from
San José at 7.30 a.m. and arrives in Masatepe around 3 p.m. In Costa
Rica the bus will only take passengers in San José, Monteverde and
Liberia. The trip costs 12.50 US$. Furthermore you are charged about
10 US$ to cross the border. Anyhow reservation is recommended. For
